What Is The Proper Way To Effectively Wash Your Face?
I often get pimples (not acne, just maybe one or two pimples) & have a big problem with black heads on my nose. Sometimes i get large pimples on my hairline which hurt a lot. I have a reasonably healthy diet & drink a lot of water, but am clueless as to how im supposed to wash my face to achieve perfect pimple-free skin. I think i have combination skin…
What products should i use? I heard that you should use an exfoliator, a moisturizer, & a toner, is that right? What order, & how do i apply them & remove them? What temperature water?
Also, how many times a day should i wash my face. I heard that it’s twice, so does that mean as soon as i wake up & just before i go to sleep?
Thank you, & any other tips or tricks would be very helpful!

This really depends on your age & hormonal stage. I know soap & water is a sure way to age your skin. I would recommend a product called repassage. If you are going to buy it off of the grocery store shelf, look at Aveeno for combination skin. Get a facial buffer pad to wash with & focus on your hairline & nose in a circular pattern buffing the dirt away. Wash morning & night & use luke warm water. Cold water closes up the pores. Too hot of water will burn you. Get an exfoliating scrub & use this once to twice a week. If you want to check out a toner, they work well for balancing the skin PH after washing. Use a non-comogenic moisturizer, preferably with an SPF of 15 or higher. I had bumps on my forehead & the derm doc said it was from too much sun. This might not be the case for you, but you should always safeguard your face from the harmful & aging effects of the sun.
If you still want some more help with those tough spots. Try out a facialist in your area who takes no prisoners on blemishes. I had a facialist who would get rid of everything below the surface. I looked like I got stung by 30 bees when I got done the first time, but my skin never looked so good the whole time I kept my weekly appointments.

i use clean & clear deep action poor unclogging scrub, which works very well.1st, rinse ur face with luke warm water. then, put the clean & clear stuff in the middle of ur hand & put it all over your face. massage it in with an exfoliating pad, if u cant use 1 of those, a simple washcloth will work, & rinse with luke warm water. do this morning & night, but no more than that, because the chemicals in the scrub are strong & may make your face sting if u do it more than 2 times a day. if this happens, don’tt worry, its normal. in the shower, you should use cetaphil so thisdoesn’tt happen. if you have a big pimple, put a dab of Borghese mud mask on it, or all over your face before you go to bed, & take it off when you wake up(it says on the jar to leave it on for 2-5 minutes, it never works so follow my directions rather than the ones on the jar). if you feel it tingle or even sting a bit(it wont hurt too much-promise) thats how u no its working. if the zit isnt gone in the morning, it definately got a lot better. this ritual is definately the best way to wash your face, but dont use the mud mask unless u ABSOLUTELY have to, or it will lose its effect.

you say”not acne” but black heads may be an early stage of acne. you should wash your face with normal soap &warm water 3 to 5 times(2 are few i think).you may use a moisturizer, but not an exfoliator, you may use an anti-acne preparation ,but after asking the doctor. avoid using oily preparations or cosmetics. i hope my answer will be useful to you.

For the black heads on your nose: use a Biore nose strip at least once a week. After using it, make sure you apply a toner with a cotton ball or pad. This will help to close the open pores & keep dirt & oil from getting in them.
For the rest of your face:
Step 1. When in the shower, use a gentle exfoliating scrub. Stay away from anything that has ground nuts or pits like apricots. It’s too harsh.
Step 2. Use an oil free face wash. Lancome has a great one called Clarfiance.
Step 3. Immediately after getting out of the shower, use an oil free or gentle moisturizer. Origins has a great one called Have a Nice Day.
Step 4. If you feel your face getting oily or dirty throughout the day, use a toner to help break up the oil. Murad makes a great toner. You can also use blotting papers. They look like small tissues & you blot them on your face. This helps to pick up excess oil & prevent it from collecting in your pores. They’re also great when you’re on-the-go & dont have time to wash your face.
As far as frequency, once in the morning & once at night should do the trick. Washing your face too much strips your natural oils & prompts your body to produce more oil. It’s a vicious cycle. Hope this helps.

Start by washing your hands. This will stop the cross contamination.
Use warm water, not hot, not cold. Use a MILD soap or detergent with a gentle scrubbing pad. Move the pad in circles where you can. If you cant move in circles, move the pad from outside in. Rinse with tepid water. Hot water stimulates blood flow.
Wash like this twice a day (when ever you brush your teeth is fine) & when ever convenient. Use an exfolient at night & a moisturizer in the morning & after you swim.
In the mid day, when washing is inconvenient, use witchhazel & cotton on your trouble spots, usually nose, chin, & forehead (or where ever you produce more oil).
If you have healthy skin, you dont need toner or any makeup- just light mascara & subdued lip color. I think pretty people are most beautifull with less makeup.

All you really need is a simple facial soap.
All zits, black heads. acne are caused by grease.
Soap has a negative charge, so it will take off the grease.
Wet your face with warm water, (use the bar on your face because it works better) & then wash it off.
You should wash your face twice a day because in the morning it is refreshing, & at night it takes off the dirt & grease that you’ve picked up throughout the day.
I had the EXACT same problem as you! Especially the black heads.
But now I wash with soap twice a day & I dont have like anymore!
Hope this helps!!

Many people wash their face too much, meaning, that they wash away important oils that are actually good for your skin. The best advice I’ve received to wash your face once a day, before bed & apply lotion in the morning & night.
it also might be that your going through puberty

I use Dove Face Pillows. They are little pads filled with powdered face wash & when they get wet, they suds up with soap. They have a gritty side & a smooth side. They work great. I use them once in the morning, once at night. For Acne, Proactiv is the best thing you can every buy! If you dont want to get the entire kit, at least buy the Proactiv Repairing Lotion…it’s like liquid gold. Your pimples will be gone within a week or so of using it.

I’ve never had a problem with acne & everyone always asks,
“What do you use on your face?”
My routine is that I only wash my face when I take a shower. I keep the water at a luke warm temp & douse my face, then immediately scrub dry with a rough towel. Then I repeat about 3 times.
No soap, no cleansers.
I also dont wear make up.
Of course none of this has anything to do with acne. My family has a predisposition for clear skin until we turn about 30 or 35. Then all the skin problems we should have dealt with in adolescence come raging in during our mid life crisis. ^_^

you are totally overthinking this face washing thing. i get lots of compliments on my skin.. I use neutrogena products only, any time i stray away from them, my skin breaks out.. you said you have issues with blackheads.. there is a cleanser specifically for blackheads.. try it.. i wash my face in the shower at night & in the morning i use neutrogena astringent. thats it. i dont use moisterizers or toners or any of that other crap.. just wash my face every night before bed & in the morning when i wake up.. hope that helps. good luck.

Plain soap.
You should wash your first with warm water first so the pores open & the dirt goes away.
Then, with cold water so the pores can close & no dirt comes in.
Gradually, you will have a very clean face.

I get the occasional random pimple on my nose & I get hairline pimples all the time. From what you described, we have similar skin.
You were right about using a toner a moisturizer & an exfoliate but not in that order. The first step would be to use the exfoliate & then apply a toner with a cotton ball or cotton pad. Then after, use an oil free moisturizer lightly to your face. The proactive brand has just this; I used it & found fantastic results. They also have a facial mask that you can use.
The only thing I would caution you about your cleansing routine is that after a while, your skin may become used to whatever system you’re using & it wont work anymore.
You had the right idea about washing your face, so the only thing left to do is to find what products you like best
