My Face Skin Is Ridiculously Dry And Flaky, Even Though I’ve Keep On Putting Moisturiser. What Can I Do?

I’m currently using the loreal happyderm cleanser for dry & sensitive skin & nivea aqua sensation moisturiser. I washed my face every morning & regurally use the moisturiser through out the day. I even drink almost 2 liter of water everyday. But it’s still not working. The dry & flaky area are mostly on my left cheek & on my forehead. Can anyone please suggest a good product or any other way to beat dry & flaky skin? Thank you.

well, here is another cleanser by loreal that might work: loreal nutri-pure self foaming cleanser. it gets rid of impurities w/out overdrying ur face. for a toner try grassroots tonic perfectly suited moisturizing face tonic to moisturize & disinfect the skin. u can get it at Kohls. then you should exfoliate your skin to get rid of flakes. u could try origins never a dull moment face polisher. it dissolves dry, flaky skin. & finally to moisturize try sea breeze naturals hydrating moisturizer, w/aloe & vitamin e. aveeno is supposed to be really good too…also be sure to eat green veggies. hope this helps!

The problem is that most lotions have alcohol & harsh chemicals in them that open your pores & make your skin feel soft temporarily but as soon as you wash your hands, that moisture is taken away again. I use natural lotion bars that are heat activated with the warmth of your hands & they take a min to soak in the skin but last a long time after wards! It is fine to put on your face & you won’t breakout or anything. Everyone who I know has tried it & loves it! It really works & all his products are guaranteed!http://www.soypete.com/Products/index.sh…

drinking 2 litres of water is not enough. every day we have to drink atleast 10 litres of water to prevent our body from dehydrating.
here are some tips to keep away your skin from drying.
    dry skin
mixture of 10 almonds, 2 spoons of oatmeal, 4 tablespoons of full cream milk, 2 spoons china clay, half a lemon juice, 1 mashed avocado. apply on face for 20 minutes. dampen wool with cold milk & wipe it off. splash cold water on face. apply light moisturizer.
    dry skin
half a teaspoon honey with the yolk of an egg & 1 tablespoon dried milk powder. mix into a paste & apply. remove after 20 minutes with water.
    dry skin
apply a pulp of raw papaya.
    dry skin
mix one & a half teaspoons honey, juice from half lemon, 1 small carton of yogurt. stir in 1 whipped egg white. apply on face & let it set about 15 minutes. gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth.
    face mask for dry skin
mash a fresh peach. mix with enough olive oil or almond oil to form a spreadable paste. & place it on you face.

If you are getting half of your body weight in ounces of water a day, then you are properly hydrated, so that rules that out…It may be a fungal condition. Are you having excessive vaginal yeast infections? If so, then, you are out of balance & it will reflect in your skin. I had the same thing, & increased my yogurt intake (make sure it has live active cultures) & took acidolphus (sp) supplements to get your good bacteria back in balance.
Our skin is an “out” for toxins in our body, but if it’s really bothering you, a little tea tree oil mixed with some almond oil can temporarily relieve the dryness & itching (if you have that as well).
Those external moisturizers are nothing but a crutch…until you’ve determined that it is indeed a fungal infection, you will continue having dry skin.
    Best Wishes to you…

You need a heavier cream moisturizer. Go to Walmarts & look for their Equate brand nightime firming cream. Use it during the day & at night time. I bet it works for you!

    Wow, that’s a bummer!
I also have dry, rough skin on my face–especially now that the weather is cooler. I would suggest using a gentle exfoliator too–that will help lift off some of the dead skin cells to give you a smoother texture. Just make sure it is gentle, so it doesn’t tear your face off. i.e. anything made from the shell of anything is too abrasive. And I’ve yet to find anything that softens my skin like St. Ives Vitamin E Moisturizer. I would definitely recommend trying a moisturizer intended for the body as they tend to be richer. Be sure to check your products to make sure they don’t have alcohol or camphor listed early in the ingredients. A lot of things that claim to be good for your skin are high in alcohol, which dries it out. Water or glycerin listed as the first, second or third ingredient is definitely your best bet!
If all else fails, perhaps a dermatologist can help you out.
    Good luck!

I dunno about your face, but I worked at Sunshine Village Ski Resort last winter, & once you get out of the shower up there, your skin is insanely dry. The only thing that saved me was Aveeno. The oatmeal is the best dry-skin solving lotion i’ve found. they have skin products too. Other than that, I dunno. Sorry, if this doesn’t help. good luck! :)

Try washing your face only at night right before bed with noxema (original); let face dry for a few mintues. Next apply Oil of Olay Regenerist daily regererating serum (my miracle in a bottle) generously to your entire face, & other areas if needed. In the morning don’t use any moisturizer. If you wear makeup, try a matte blend (such as Maybelline dream matte mousse) rather than a liquid.

Try an exfoliant, but then seal in the moisture & prevent further dryness. Check out the great article below….
