Do People Have To Apply Moisturizer To Their Faces?

Does the body naturally balance moisture in the face to keep it from getting dry & red or is does a moisturizer have to be applied to keep redness & dryness away. Simply put: without moisturizers, is the human face naturally red on the sides of the face/cheeks?

the skin on the face is just like any other piece of skin on your body , except that its exposed to the elements. so since its exposed to the wind , & the wind takes moisture out of your face , you have to put it back in .thats why we use moisturizer

Generally younger people don’t have to use a moisturizer if they have normal skin. However with more & more people washing with harsh soaps & some acne medicine, it’s not a bad idea to use a natural moisturizer like Avino Daily care after bathing. If your skin is flaky, dry, & just uncomfortable using a moisturizer may help. With age, as we grow older, our body doesn’t produce the natural oils as much & moisturizer becomes a necessity. What ever you decide to use, if you want to use a moisturizer, make sure it’s made of good natural stuff. There is a lot of junk on the market that people pay too much money for.
You want something that is non-greasy, that when it dries feels like your natural skin. Unless your prescribed a special lotion by a dermatologist, go with the simple stuff. No smell, no color, no grease.
Read the labels. Things like Urea (animal urine) & methal parbeian (emulsifier) are not good for your skin.
As for the redness on the sides of your cheeks, this can be caused by any number things. In younger people it’s generally a good sign of a healthy circulatory system. Blood vessels that are close to the surface of the skin enlarge when you blush or when in cold weather to help keep your face warm. If the redness has bumps in it, itches, or has a burning sensation, or if you notice the redness increasing in area more than usual, see a dermatologist.

yea you have to put moisturizer, or else your face will produce too much oil, then your pores will clog & make pimples.

Some people have skin that doesn’t need the extra protection, & some others need to have the moisturizer to keep their skin looking it’s best. Your skin could also be dry because of your diet, not drinking enough water, or your face wash. It all depends on your skin.

Well, I’m not so sure about the redness, but I apply moisturizer to attain moisture to my face so it doesn’t flake or anything. Without moisturizer, I’m fine, but my face isn’t hydrated enough & makes me feel a bit uncomfortable, but it’s not very noticeable.
Redness, I’m not sure about, sorry!
